DTB Trail - short

The Twickenham Museum is the history centre for Twickenham, Teddington, Whitton and the Hamptons. It occupies a characterful Georgian house on Twickenham Embankment originally owned by the Twining tea merchant family. It has been home to families of Watermen and others, and in 1994 to journalist Jack Ellis who successfully campaigned for the conservation of Old Twickenham. This included his home at 25 The Embankment, which he left as part of his estate to the trustees of the Twickenham Museum charity. Volunteer led, the museum protects, preserves and displays local artefacts from the Ice Age onwards. Entrance is free.
