Barista training is a comprehensive program designed to teach individuals the skills and knowledge necessary to work as a barista in a coffee shop or café. As a barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving various coffee beverages, such as espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and more. The training typically covers several key areas, including:
Coffee knowledge: Understanding the different types of coffee beans, regions, and roasting levels. Learning about the various coffee brewing methods and espresso extraction techniques.
Espresso basics: Mastering the art of pulling a perfect shot of espresso, adjusting grind size, and understanding the variables that affect espresso quality.
Milk frothing and latte art: Learning how to froth milk to achieve different textures (e.g., microfoam) and creating latte art designs to enhance the visual appeal of coffee drinks.
Coffee equipment operation: Familiarizing yourself with the espresso machine, grinder, and other tools used in coffee preparation, and understanding how to maintain and troubleshoot them.
Customer service: Developing excellent customer service skills, including interacting with customers, taking orders, and providing recommendations.
Hygiene and cleanliness: Understanding the importance of maintaining a clean and sanitary work area to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
Time management: Learning to handle multiple orders efficiently, especially during busy periods, while maintaining the quality of the beverages.
Time of training :4 Days (3pm Weekdays for 4 hours x 3 days, one whole day hands-on experience with customers and one day visit to our roastery in Surbiton )
