Discover Twickenham Business Improvement District

What is a Business Improvement District (BID)

Discover Twickenham BID is made up of local businesses working collaboratively for the common good of our town. It is led by a voluntary Board made up of local business owners and managers. Our activities and projects are paid for with funds contributed by businesses located in Twickenham via the BID levy.

We want to see people choosing to have a business in Twickenham, residents having pride in where they live, visitors having a memorable experience in our town and workers to enjoy the town they work in. Having a BID ensures that businesses of all sizes and sectors can make a co-ordinated contribution to this and are invested in making it happen.

From Twickenham Green to York House Gardens, our district is fortunate to have great people offering creative and quality commerce experiences so that residents, businesses and visitors have the opportunity to enjoy supporting local.

Based on the feedback we received from local businesses, a business plan was created for the new BID term 2024 – 2029. This is based on 3 core pillars. These pillars were created to consolidate the feedback we received into coherent, deliverable objectives.

Clean, Safe & Green

Our town centre is in an unrivalled riverside location with easy access to parks and other beautiful green areas. It has a wealth of cultural spaces and events on offer, a strong independent retail sector and is home to several leading business services companies. It has enviable transport links and easy access into central London and Heathrow airport. It maintains a village feel while being in one of the safest boroughs in London.

Having an attractive, clean and safe town centre makes it a more enjoyable place to work, live and visit. This helps encourage footfall, builds a stronger community, contributes to staff retention and attracts inward investment by new businesses.

Working in partnership with our strategic partners, we can maximise resources to collaboratively enhance Twickenham and ensure it grows and thrives in a way that benefits everyone.
