Twickenham resident since the 90s, Kevin Jones started out promoting local live music events which soon led to co-founding a record shop on Church Street, in the same building as Ricardo’s Cellar and Limpopo Biltong Butchers. In a short period of time Eel Pie Records has become a firm favourite for local residents and, among other events, the business launched ‘The High Tide Festival’ in 2019, showcasing young musicians in Church Street venues. With a passion for Twickenham and local business, Kevin joined the Twickenham BID Board was elected Chair.

Antimos founded his practise in Twickenham in January 2014 and by 2017 he moved to 29-31 Heath Road to manage the rapid growth of the business. On entrance to the Dental Suite, you’ll be offered freshly ground coffee with Eel Pie Records vinyl playing in the background. Antimos is a firm believer in supporting local independent businesses and can often be spotted in Sandys, Samis, Ruben’s, Corto’s or Brown’s. He is also a firm believer that businesses should work closely together and help one another.

Like his father Ray, who founded Sandys Fishmongers in 1977, Stuart Sandy lives by the motto inscribed on the shop wall – ‘Where only the best is good enough’. The business is passionate about bringing quality and innovation to the vibrant and enthusiastic Twickenham community. By using #notjustafishmonger, Stuart and the team combine historic spirit and modern day life, and they now offer an in-house butcher, a fully comprehensive deli area, including cheese, wine and gourmet produce, as well as highly personalised home deliveries.

More about Geoff
Originally from Manchester, Geoff has lived in the Borough of Richmond since 1998 and currently represents St Margaret’s and North Twickenham for the Liberal Democrats. Sworn in during a virtual council meeting in May 2020, Geoff became Richmond’s 56th Mayor following a career in marketing and communications in the Automotive Industry. He still works as a business consultant and lives in Twickenham. Having been a Councillor since 2006, Geoff was Deputy Mayor in 2008-09 and has been Business and Economics Lead since 2018.

Ricardo has lived in Twickenham since the 90s and took ownership of RICARDO’S off-licence on Whitton Road in 2003. Since, he has added RICARDO’S Cellar on Church Street, offering a hand-picked selection of wine, craft beer, cider, cheese and cigars. Calling on his years in hospitality, he also runs tasting events, as well as a pop-up bar service. He shares the premises with Eel Pie Records and Limpopo Biltong Twickenham. Ricardo lives by the mantra that businesses and communities can have a far bigger impact when they pull together.

Mike MacAuley is General Manager Twickenham Office for digital experience software experts Liferay. Mike believes Discover Twickenham should be adding to, and complementing, existing initiatives, as well as highlighting some of the fantastic places and spaces in Twickenham. “Most business owners live locally and have a strong interest in improving the area for residents and visitors,” says Mike. “I got involved with Discover Twickenham because I thought something should be done with that cash for the benefit of the area and I had some ideas.”

Natasha joined the BID in April 2020 after two years’ experience as a recycling advisor in the area. Natasha says “Twickenham is such a unique place to work and live, with a second-to-none sense of community spirit! The businesses that are part of the BID are such a vibrant, knowledgeable and welcoming people to work with. I am excited to continue to help improve and enhance the town for its businesses and draw local residents to all that Twickenham has to offer”.

More about Susan
Susan is currently employed as Business and Enterprise Manager in the Economic Development unit of Richmond Council and her key responsibilities cover the areas of BID development; town centre management, inward investment, business support, growth and retention. She has an MSc in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development; the Richmond and Croydon Chambers of Commerce; and the Association of Town and City Management. Other current roles include Board membership of the Historic Croydon Airport Trust and the Wandsworth/Richmond LA Pension Scheme.
